Some hotels are family friendly. That is, they have a swimming pool, maybe an arcade, a playground, things that children can enjoy. Others may not be child-friendly, but all hotels have other guests who expect your children to behave during their stay.
If you have a kid who plays travel sports like hockey, basketball or soccer, you know you spend a lot of time in hotels. There are games, there are tournaments and probably the whole team (if not more teams) are located in the same hotel. It makes a lot of kids. It’s great because you can hang out with other parents, the kids hang out with friends and teammates, but it should limit what kids can do in and around the hotel.
For example, no other guest appreciates the gang of children moving down the corridors hovering at the top of their lungs. If you don’t let your kids run around the house like this, why do they do it at a hotel? Another thing that abducts other guests is that quiet times are not supported. Just because you are not far from home does not mean that you can act at any time of the day or night.
Staying at a hotel is a freedom, parents can go to a restaurant or bar while their children go to the pool, but this is too ticklish as children should always be monitored around the water, regardless of their age. Even if parents alternate at the pool, it’s better than no supervision at all.
Ideally, children should behave properly in the pool, which means not running, not diving in shallow water and adhering to the rules of the pool. The same goes for a gym or fitness center if the hotel has one.

This is available to all guests, and if your child has a valid reason to be there, supervise it, then that’s great, but having a bunch of kids hanging out at the gym annoying other guests no no.

Fovr the most part, kids and hotels are a great mix, and families follow the rules, the kids are polite and quiet and it’s okay to be allowed to run amok to cause problems. No one wants to be kicked out of a hotel, so follow the rules of fun for everyone.
